I would like to upgrade to cable broad band internet but my house isn't wired for cable. Can I buy a wireless cable modem and wireless cards for all my computers or does the wireless modem have to be connected to one of the computers? Thanks for any help. :)

There are a lot of broadband companies out there, but it really depends on what kind of service you can get out there. You should go to http://www.google.com and do some research on the broad band companies that might be able to service your area. Not all cable and DSL companies service all areas.

Then once you pick the one that services your area, you need them to come in and equip your computer. They will install the ISP to your computer.

Once you get that settled, you can get a wireless router and a wireless PC card (for laptops or desktop if they dont have WIFI) and you can network all your computers to use the router.

Do you have verizon wireless where you live? Go to http://www.verizonwireless.com and they have this PC card that you just slip into your laptop and you can get internet access wherever you go. They are not cheap though.

If you have a laptop, then you can get a Verizon Wireless notebook card. You don't need any cable modem for that. It works just like your cell phone. The Internet works anywhere you go. I don't know about desktop cards. You can get a wireless cable modem, and then get a wireless router and some cards. But I think that it would be cheaper to get the Verizon wireless card.

No basically, if you have the cable company come in and run you cable at least to the house, you should be able to connect your modem and or wireless router up to it. Depending on your ISP you may have to connect a PC directly to the modem and router at first to get it configured, but after that you can basically set it in the corner and forget about it.
