Yahoo assures you that you're using the currently updated beta version. It might take some days for placing the new version online but this doesn't matter...

You do not have to check it. Once you get BETA version, you will see totally new interface to Yahoo mail. So chill out, don't worry.

Help->about. It will tell you the exact version

you dont need to check its automatic. As soon as you login to yahoo messenger it will prompt you to download latest version, if there is one.
