Try the Bahia Honda state beach in the Keys. I was just there recently. Amazing.

If it's romance you're looking for I'd check out Clearwater Beach. Not alot of people talk about Clearwater but it's got some beautiful beaches. Clearwater is near Tampa and St. Petersburg. There's also Miami which is a great party beach and Daytona Beach another party beach in my opinion. I'd stick with Clearwater or check out West Palm Beach. Have fun!

I watched Travel Channels Best Florida Beaches last week, as I'm headed there myself soon. My family and I will be going to Siesta Key Beach, located on the Gulf Side in the city of Sarasota. It is known for its pure, soft, baby powder like white sand. Clearwater was also high on the list. #1 was South beach in Miami.

I have heard the Keys, and Sanibel Island are very nice. Destin is another top destination. I've been to Cocoa, Daytona, New Symrna, Melborne, and Nokomis. I would recommend Nokomis from those. It is <30 minutes from Sarasota and the beaches are pretty darn nice and rentals directly on the beach are very affordable. Quite a few celebrities owns houses there, since it is relatively secluded.

Panama City Beaches - we have the most beautiful beaches and so does Destin, but Destin is too crowded now. They are starting to ruin it here - turn it into another Destin/Miami, etc... so come before they succeed! Beautiful turquoise waters, white sand, palm trees plus not too crowded can still find beach for yourself and lots of fun night spots i.e. Ms. Newby's, Coyote Ugly, Donovans, Spinnakers, Schooners, Buck Wild, Club L - biggest nightclub on the planet, great restaurants, etc...
