hey in my last question I asked where I could get a good starightner and many of you said Sally's Beauty Shop. I live in L.I., Suffolk County. But where is Sally's Beauty Shop? - Even better does anyone have their number?

Do not try to straighten your hair yourself! You will end up with hair that resembles chewed bubble gum - stretchy and sticky! Your hair might fall off if you try to do this yourself!

There is nothing wrong with curly hair, but if you must absolutely straighten it try the THERMAL RECONDITIONING method (also known as Japanese Hair Straightening system). This method uses heat and chemical solutions that are no where near as damaging as a regular straightener.

Check out the link below for more info. Call your local salons or check the phone book for salons that specialize in this method.

You don't have to spend a ton on a straightner. I bought a Revlon Straightner at Wal-Mart for about 20.00 and it works great. Just make sure that the plates are ceramic, that is VERY important. You also want to try to get a 2 inch plate so you won't have to work as hard straightening. I have used the high dollar ones and mine works just as well. One thing that may help is a product called spray starch for your hair (not the kind you iron clothes with) which is available at most salons. You just lightly spray it on a strip before straightening it and repeat with each section of hair.

ur best bet is ebay-- get a chi iron. works like a charm and u don't even have to leave the house. sally's doesn't sell chi's, they sell their own brand. i've heard it's pretty comparable, but i gotta stick w/my chi.
