Well it is illegal to fire someone for whistleblowing, call an attorney. In the meantime I would look at other branches of the government. It might help if you knew if there has been a 'not eligible for rehire' placed in your employee file.

In Arizona a employer doesn't have to have a legit reason to fire an employee. Also one doesn't have to give a two week notice.
There's some useless info for ya.
Anyway, it looks really bad that you were forced to resign. It says you were disloyal in some way. (I'm assuming it's you we're talking about) It is hard to get a government job in the first place. It would be twice as hard to get one with that on your record.
Good luck

As someone said, it's illegal to be fired for whistle blowing. For any other causes, your agency has to follow a series of steps just so it can be demonstrated you were treated fairly. If you belong to a union, have them advise you. Otherwise find an attorney who specializes in gov't employment. Ask them to take you on conditionally (on condition they win). if they won't, you probably were fired legally. There are appeals etc that have deadlines that have to be met to get a job back. If you don't know all the boards and appeals, then make sure your attorney does.

All governmental jobs are linked to the same source. It will more than likely not happen. remember when you filled out the app?
the question goes something like .... have you ever been forced to resign... or have you ever worked for us... or have you ever been terminated if so then why???

not gonna happen!
Sorry.

WOW!!!! I didn't know the government FORCED anyone to resign - usually, you have to be caught with a bottle in one hand, a needle in the other, and a Playboy in your back pocket just to get a warning...

I'd probably start by talking to your old supervisor, or someone above them.

If you are a true "Whistle Blower" and had a valid complaint the law prohibits retribution for only one year. If it is a Federal job you must request permission to sue. (Think about that) Look up EEOC and file the proper forms. Good Luck.

Seek a government position with someone of authority who champions cleaning up whatever it is that you exposed. Hopefully, there is one. Whistle blowers protections have been weakened, of late. Good luck.
