Are you the kind of person that spends up money alot, or is always on your home phone? Your parents are probably watching the way you do things in that nature. Dont think if you staighten up your act for a couple of days or weeks that you will get a cell phone. 1) dont spend a lot of time on which ever phone you use now because if you are talking alot, that adds up to a lot of minutes which costs a lot of money on cell phones. 2)If you lose a lot of things maybe they think you will lose the cell phone. Try to keep up with everything you have now. Parents dont like to throw away money and thats what will happen if you lose the phone. If they do let you get a phone, I advise that you buy a belt clip so it can stay clipped to you and not fall off somewhere. Dont take it out in school showing it off either so your teachers wont take it from you, and make sure you cut the ringer off durring school hours. 3)In your question it says that you're 114 years old, but I'm assuming that you meant to say 14 years old which would mean that you cant go out and get a legal job. What ever money you get, you need to save it whether it's allowance, gifts, or money from doing chores. After you have saved a lot, show them and make sure you always keep some money saved when they ask to see it. These are the most responsible things that I can think of. (P.S.) If you really are 114 years old you can apply for your own cell phone yourself.

You are 114 and your parents are still around? That must be a record!
I must assume that you are either 11 or 14. In either case, you don't need a cell phone except on rare occasions. If your parents say you are not responsible enough, then it's likely that you are not. There is little reason for teens to need cell phones and far too many teens have them -- and abuse them.
Talk to your parents about getting a paper route or something to pay for it yourself. Then prove you are responsible enough to stay within your limit of minutes and make the payments.
Suggest one of those no contract buy minutes monthly phones where you purchase the minutes at the grocery, Wal-Mart or Sam's Club type stores. Then if you don't keep up the payments, there is no contract to buy out and agree to turn over the phone to them.
If your parents agree, keep your agreement with them. Don't carry the phone around school, keep it in your locker during classes. When at home, use the home phone as much as possible. Most of all, don't abuse the privilege.

114 years old? Will you understand how to work it? Will you be able to see the buttons to push them?
Now if you are 14 years old, then I would say to listen to your parents. They know best for you at this age. But in the meantime, you can work on your maturity/ responsibilities. Start to take your home life and school life seriously. Pick up after your self, help out around the house, take on responsibilities without having your parents tell you what to do, get good grades, help your siblings, etc. They will see that you are responsible and then let you get the things you want to get, like the cell phone.

If you are 114 years old then how old are your parents. If you are that old I don't think you need your parents permission to get a cell phone. I just have never talk with anybody that is as old as you are and still have parents that are alive.

I assume that you meant to say that you are 14 years old.
First of all, why do you want a cell phone? Do you really need a cell phone? I am twice your age and I don't have a cell phone. I don't need one. I have friends, but they can call me on a regular phone and leave a message. Do you want a cell phone because your friends have one and you want to fit in at school--is that it? If you have a cell phone, how are you going to pay for it? There are monthly charges. If I was your parent, I would not want my young teenager with a cell phone. When they are old enough to get a job, then my kids could have a cell phone because they can afford to pay for the monthly bills. Most young kids I have seen with cell phones don't really use them for emergency purposes. They just talk stupid on them with their friends or their parents use them to check up on them. Plus they are often shallow, spoiled kids.

Show that you are responsible by doing the things they ask you to do, do them well and, do more than they ask. First look up the word responsibility and really study what it means. Next, get a year older and wiser, save your own money to help with the bill, and then approach your parents with a well detailed plan on how you intend to use the phone and what will happen if it is abused.
