so i was cuttign the lawn with my push mower, and it was workign just fine all afternoon, then i started cutting a long area and it died, when i went to start it back up the pull chain seems to be stuck, it only comes out like 3 inches and the motor does nothing because the chain is stuck!! help!

ok i have done some research... the starter cord is whats stuck, not anything to do with the chain..

it started right up just a little bit ago, so i dont need anymore answers, thank yall though!

You need to clean out underneath the deck. It more than likely got bogged with heavy, wet grass and won't let the blade turn. Unplug the sparkplug before reaching underneath.

Be sure to keep stuff out of the yard next time..... keep this as a lesson, it could have sheared the flywheel key and you would have to go through the process of replacing it. This time it started up...... next time it might not.

check your oil. If you ran out of oil the engine would seize up and you can throw it away and get a brand new one. Oh boy, lets go shopping.

Just rinse it with a water hose. Be sure not to stick your hand under it if it's running.
