How important is the "healthy nuclear family" model (i.e. married Father and Mother raising children together) to the survival of society as a whole? Should homosexuality be encouraged instead of opposed, and if so, how far is too far?

The nucleus of family life is the father and Mother both giving instruction and guidance.
Besides that it still takes a man and a women to have children.

It should be allowed. Encouraging it will have as much effect as discouraging it. You can't make gays straight, nor can you make straight people gay.

Does it threaten the family? The family structure of the 50's perhaps; but that nuclear family doesn't really exist anymore. And it's no big loss.

to me a "healthy family" is a family full of love my dad did not raise me and my sister but my mom did and my grandmother and uncle and aunts and the neighbours. it should not matter what your sexually is the fact of the matter is that all that matter is love and affection and the knowledge that someone cares for you, you would not believe what that does to a person when they know that they are cared for by someone

I don't think so. As long as it's a happy healthy family, why does it matter if it's a nuclear one?
