My little girl just got Chicken Pox...her doctor said to just give her Benadryl for the itching, but are there any "off the record" treatments or home remedies you know of that helped with the itching? And helped to soothe?

Poor little baby! You've had some great answers so far. Look for a homeopathic treatment for itching. She'll probably have fever too so give her some Tylenol for babies. Keep her cool, plenty of baths, cool fluids if she's off her milk, although she may still want it and warm. When she's awake keep her distracted with lots of play time. Good Luck!

My son was 8 months when he had chicken pox. I gave him oatmeal baths (aveeno), which soothed him. I also used calamin lotiion on the pox to help sooth the itching. but if the pox are in an area that he can put into his mouth, such as his hands, use something else.

First of all, nurse, nurse, nurse. It will make her chicken pox milder and less bothersome to her!

Second, try oatmeal. It is great for reducing itching. You make "oatmeal milk" by filling a cloth diaper, washcloth, or cheesecloth with whole (non-instant) oatmeal, then soaking it in hot water. The water will be milk-y looking. Rub the oatmeal-filled cloth on baby's sores. It helps a lot!! When my kids (older than your daughter) had chicken pox, the practically live in the bathtub with oatmeal cloths.

We were always given Calamine lotion (the pink stuff) and then for the really young ones putting mittens over their hands helps prevent scratching.

Remember do not removed any scabs. I did and still have the indent.
