You can try the Social Security Death Index. If you have all of the necessary information you should be match it up. However, I don't know how much you can learn for free. I looked up my grandmother's info several years ago and had her SSN but in order to get a copy of her SS application I had to send in like $8 (I think it's like $16 or so now). go to rootsweb.com it's free and it will even give you the social if you are looking for others. it will show date of birth and date of death. good luck
