Whoa!! There's a lot of haters on here. I was not trying to generalize EVERYONE, just the people who I described!! Just because people come here to get advice, answers or help does not mean they are seeking approval or validation, it just means they don't know everything. And I don't think it means you're lazy; I personally enjoy this site because it is more personal and entertaining than just reading results from a search engine!! As for having too much time on your hands, probably if you check back for 14 days straight!! lol. I don't go quite that far but I am on off-time so yeah I spend lot's of time on here. Peace.

Actually,no, last time I checked I was here to ask questions, get advice and answers, not to have my intelligence and character judged.

I think some people are out here just to gather points and have fun. Other people are out here to gets points and at the same time answer question that they feel they can help other people with. Like everywhere in life you get good and bad. Some people are mean others kinds. I have read some of the rude answers from people and I don't know why they waste everyones' time. Especially when some people feel this is a place to learn.

Well, as you know when ever you get a large group of people together on the Internet, your going to usually have your free for all no matter whether your on Answers, Chat, or other forum boards.
Your gonna have your lovers and your haters, your saints and your judgers, and your gonna have your freaks and your geeks.I don't care where you are on the net, your going to find that and those types of people.
Just a piece of friendly advice, and I'm not trying to be mean here, but you've just got to have a thicker skin for all of this, and just ignore the haters, and the judgers. Don't let them get under your skin like that. If you don't then you're really not gonna have too much fun in these types of venues. And that would be sad, because I agree with you, this is a lot more interesting than some of the other places I've visited on the Internet.
Have a good day, and have fun during your off time. Relax! ;-)

I read the questions before answering but I am struck by the incredible laziness of people who take time to type a question here where a simple net search can give the answer. Also some of the questions are just too stupid like, "do you think joe likes me?" what is the point of that being on here? so my complaint is that people should re-think the type of question posed here and provide through details. That is for question writers to keep in mind

you are trying to chastise a mixed variety of people here, there is a group that like to hit an answer for the 2 points and care not what they write, some are young and probably in a hurry, and some just can;t put two words together to make a complete sentence, and i find that the further down your answer appears the less likely any one will read it, so when i go of on a rant with these long winded answers I usually see my post way at the bottom of the page and figure who and the hell is going to read it anyway so at this point I can just rattle on about any thing I want .

I know what you mean, I posted a question once about religion and people just attacked! I didn't like the answers I got, and I noticed that they never came back to check additional details which made me even more mad, so much so that I removed the question. That's why I don't ask questions and just answer.
Good luck!
Hey kat g, can you deal with the fact that you're an a-hole? Cuz I can tell you're one of those that likes to trash people for a simple remark or statement to make yourself feel better.

I agree with you on that. I think a lot of them think of yahoo answers as a game and don't realize people are actually here wanting answers to know things. Yeah some questions are hilarious and just for fun but even with those you should take time to think before you answer.

I'll bet you that 60% of the people on this site only answer questions for the two points, not concerns. So they whiz theu answering just to earn them. Believe me, I have written like a page full of details under a question and got 'bowl cut' for an answer which had nothing to do with my question about La Boheme.

You DO come here to be judged (see I read your question). You don't look deeply enough into your own motives, try to prove to me or anyone else that you don't get gratification or validation from the replies you receive to your questions and you will most likely fail, but almost certainly amuse. Thaks for the 2 points.

Hey now...can we really fault people for being so overexcited at the prospect of bullying or berating someone about a question they've asked that they fail to read the entire question and truly understand its meaning?
I mean, come on...we're talking about 2 points just for typing something. Should we really criticize them for grabbing those 2 points, and putting someone else down in the process so they can feel better about themselves? Shouldn't we, instead, help them to feel better about themselves by asking more questions? I mean, they did answer...what more can we expect of them.

People are judgmental and lazy. The combination makes up for the misguided answers that you are experiencing. It's sad really. Think about the arguments and the prejudice that would cease had people given more of an effort.
