Open Internet Explorer, to to 'Tools" and delete ALL temp files and cookies. Go to microsoft.com and download popup blocker and programs that stop ads...and find something to quarantine cookies. Then go to Symantic.com, run a virus scan. If you have virus, download Norton Antivirus (will cost money). If you have decent cable service, your machine should fly. And, reset you cable modem...(turn it off, then back on. ) If you are still running slow, call the cable supplier...that speed should be at 356K or faster. Good luck

If it's wireless, make sure it's secure with password protection and such. If this isn't the problem, make your cable ISP fix it.
