1. The stuff is called Fix-A-Flat.
It's not an advisable method of fixing a flat tire because most tire places won't touch the tire to repair it if you've used this stuff in your tire, which would mean you'd need to purchase a new tire from them after using the stuff.

To use, basically it is a combination of compressed air and a sealant. It pumps up your tire and injects sealant into the tire at the same time. The sealant basically seals your hole.

In the UK there's a brand called TyreWeld, and it's used purely as an emergency so that you can get home/to a place where you can get your tyre fixed. It costs about £7, I think, and I carry a can with me at all times in my top box as I had a flat in a really inaccessible place once which was a nightmare.

If you have a slow puncture that can be fixed, then keep adding air to it at garages until you can get to a motorcycle tyre specialist and get them to repair the tyre for you.

If it's a total flat/a large unfixable hole then that's when TyreWeld is really useful - but ONLY when not repairable. If you do use it then the other people replying are right, you will need to replace your tyre as it fills it with expandable foam that reacts to the oxygen/some other element in the air and forms a temporary almost solid replacement for the air in your tyre. You can't empty it, then fix the tyre and use the tyre again in the same way.

When it's removed it's pretty gooey at best, and quite explosive at worst (mostly if you try to remove it within only a few minutes of putting it in, while it's still expanding).

It's a useful thing to have, as long as you use it in the right circumstances.

Tyre Foam

Spray foam is just a get you home solution and it will break up after a while.

I would advise a product called Ultraseal. Ultraseal is one of those slime type productas that you put into your tyre/innertube. The bonus with Ultraseal is that it claims to seal small holes and last for the life of the tyre rather than being a get me home sealent.

I have a friend who used this in a flat tyre on his ZX7R and it did the job untill he had to replace the tyre at its normal change.

This stuff (FIx-a-Flat is one brandname) is for emergency use only. It is a polyurothane foam that dries on contact with the air. It will make your tire fill enough to get it to a shop to have it fixed properly.
However, it sounds like the bike is somewhere safe right now. My advice would be to take the wheel off the bike, take it to a shop and let them fix/replace the tire.
As noted above, some shops won't touch a tire full of fix-o-flat goo or slime or any of the other products out there because when they try to get the tire off the rim, they get a facefull of the mess = not fun!
So, if you have the option at all, at all, pull the tire and take it to a shop. If you have no option, use the fix-o-flat junk and take it to a shop, but it'll cost you more.

To get it properly repaired will cost you almost the same as a tin of that spray goo.

the advantage of the goo is it will get you home in an emergency, then you need new tyre when you are home safe.

it is cheaper in the long run to have a proper repair.

I'm really sorry but that's the way it is

Fix a Flat is a rubberized liquid. The can is under pressure and it forces the liquid to the opening or leak in the tire. It will seal it for a while until you replace or repair the tire. After you use the contents of the can, add more air to the proper inflation. One other thing, when you decide to replace that tire, please warn the tech that is replacing it that you used fix a flat. When he breaks that tire off the rim, he will get soaked with that sticky rubber solution. cant use fix a flat in thewinter, it will freeze and vibrate out of control.
