What you have (if original) is an Oldsmobile 5.0 liter 307 engine. This was 1 of GMs work horses and was used in alot of luxury models. The economical thing to do would be to try to swap your 350 Chevy for a 350 olds.None of the parts of these 2 engines are interchangeable , GM however did build a BOP Trans that will fit the Buick, olds,Pontiac and Chevy lines.hence BOP.Also every part of the 307 olds will be interchangeable with the 350 olds and will save you alot of money and headache. If you can't find a swapper then try selling the Chevy and buying an olds engine.Don't get me wrong on this I admire Chevy's for what they are , parts are easy to find and performance is easy to achieve with any of Chevy's engines but if your looking for an economical and easy swap than trading over for an olds engine would be best of you..

The GM 307 is basically the same block as the 350, but the Oldsmobile engine (if that's what you have) had a wider 'V' which changes the crank and cam shafts and also the motor mounts and transmission bell housing. If your heads and manifolds fit the other block, everything should bolt up just fine. You might find it easier to bore and stroke the 307 to a 350 since your going to tear everything down to parade rest anyway.

If both engines have the starter on the same side of the engine, they are both Chevy engines and everything will work. Just reuse the intake, carb and distributer on the 350. If the starters are on different sides of the engine, don't even bother with this. The transmision will not bolt to the Chevy block, some rewiring would need to be done, and you would need to buy an intake, carb, other parts to make this work.

Not really a GM man anymore and havent messed with one in years but the motor mounts should be the same for both applications as they are basically the same size engine.

besides the typical wiring and such, you will need different motor mounts, the typical dressings of the motor (pulleys, intake, etc, etc) and a chevy trans.

a chevy motor will only bolt to a chevy trans, chevy was the GM oddball when it came to that.
