I remember my kids were attached to certain blankets, stuffed animals because they are from their earliest memories. The blanket from their crib, the stuffed animal when they learned to hug.

It's usually a soft, squishy, cuddly thing that my kids loved. My daughter loved the silky part of her baby blanket, and when it was in shreds, from being dragged around a lot, I cut off the silky part, and she would take that everywhere.

My son loved the baby comforter from his crib. It was warm and soft, and cuddly.

Now my mom is working a clean job and that i'm 14 so George sits on reveal in my room. Being a child is very traumatic and some parents are less nurturing than others. A child has to be able to comfort themself, and for some children that is thumb sucking, blankies, their favorite stuffed animal. A child who is able to comfort themself without being told they don't need that or its stupid, is able to grow into a healthy, well-developed adult with fewer mental problems.

Because this is a neutral source of love for the child. It will always be there to comfort him/her and never let the child down. They grow attached to it like they would a friend, they feel like they need to take it every where to make him/her feel safe and loved.
