ok me and my friend r having a party in like agust and want it to be american idol and we need help getting ideas and need help planning it and getting ready body have any pointers.

So you're thinking of throwing a karaoke party? American Idol style? That sounds fun. Here's what I think you should do...
Get three friends to be the judges, and set up a table and everything.
For the singers, clear a big space for them so they can sing, dance and show what they got. I'd also suggest that you film the whole party, so you can look back and see how much fun you guys had. Come up with some prizes and different stuff for the winner!
Everyone who attends party likes when FOOD is provided. So be sure that you have enough food to feed all your guests. Be sure to have some good music, and decorations so everyone gets hyped. HAVE FUN!!!

* Get the American Idol dvd game.
* Try and have a trivia round where people gotto guess the songs from mute clippings of various final round performers.
* Also dressing up like various idols may be poss(esp easy to mimic Fantasia, Chris D and Hicks)
* Could have Idol paper cups and napkins et al.
* Oh, and also have a karaoke music set up so that people could try their hand at singing, you may want to convert that singing into an instant poll right there and have a Party Idol.
* Even the party invite and thank you note could be with American Idol logo that is somewhat modified.
* Use language that Randy and Paula and Simon have personified. So the invite could have say 3 RSVP options -
a) I think the party has a lot of soul. The theme has melted my heart; you are wonderful and have thrilled me completely by inviting me to the party and I shall be there, clapping my hands and supporting you. (obv Paula)
b) Dawg, I shall check it out. See you in the dawg pound! (randy)
c) That was so crass. You cannot shock me with such a cheap imitation of the Idol. But I shall be there judging the party and the flow to see if you do have any potential. Do raise the bar and aim higher. (Simon)
get the guests to tick one of the three acceptance boxes and send it in.
* In the last 7 days prior to the party, send out titbits of info about american idol in a daily mail digest.

I always do theme parties and thats a great idea. Be sure to have the Karaoke machine and a light to "spotlight" that person.
I'd have a judges table set up to one side. You might look for a life size cut out of Simon Cowell.
Birthday express actually has an american idol contestant number pack. They have a microphone pinata and microphone candy.. how cool is that?
Target sells plates etc for the same these but they aren't as cute.
If you can make a "stage" area .. you can pick up cheap fabric to make curtains out of.
Sounds very fun!

Easy as pie to throw a good party you'll need food doesn't matter if it's good, drinks, good party games, music, a good mix of friends.
A great party go to the cub and invite all your friends that way you have good music, food, music, and depending on where you go you'll have great games. If your in Atlanta you can find that the Atrium is a good choice.

Try having like a karaoke...if it's american idol...(if that's what u mean) buy a microphone, plug it in a radio and sing ur heart out and have a competition who sings better...BALLOONS, CONFETTI, CAKE, MUSIC!, MOVIES (the phantom of the opera!! i tried that movie everyone loved it!), potato chips, soda!or try buying the american idol video game..hope this is what u wanted lol.

ok get a bunch of no talent loosers first then get three idiots to be the judges then invite a heard of sheep to watch it....then youll have the perfect american idol party

Just make sure the theme of the party is what u and ur friend(s) r into and it's more than fun and interesting. Have plenty of good FOOD and CAN DRINKS TO PREVENT N-E SEX DATE DRUGS OR N-E-THING OF THAT TYPE. And have plenty of entertainment.

a lot of drinks with alcohol.... also coctels for the ones who dont like to drink much.... a lot of musik... you need a good dj who knows how 2 control the people by musik (that me!!!).... . u need alot of space for people 2 dance.... let them go outside and inside without a problem.... invite alot of pppl.. even the ones you dont know... and DONT invite the once who else start fights when drunk...... give people freedom and dont worry about anything else.. oh yeah... lights! wich can go off and on with kool kolors!.... dont have expensive things around kuz ppl dont giv a damn and they will break it.. and just sit down and relax...

Put nice decorations and a space like a dance floor so everyone can dance, music, food, and what really makes it fun is the people you have there.
