the way to get hired is to make yourself as appealing as possible to employers without compromising your talent. if this means losing a little weight, it might help you. but don't go so far as to starve yourself and risk your health, because that's something that will end your career forever. think of your body as a tool to get you what you want. not like a prostitute, of course, but like an athlete or a model. work it the right ways so that it does the things you want it to do.
being appealing can happen in different ways, though. find the styles (clothing, hair) that work for you, meet people who are interested in you, and do whatever you can that will possibly advance your career.
make a list of goals- the big final ones and the ones you need to achieve to get at the big finals ones. with that distinction, even if some of the little ones don't work out, you still have the big one at the end.
i wish you luck, i really do. you seem to want it more than most of the people who ask questions on here. with committment and drive, plus a fair amount of talent and training, you're well on your way.

im in the same situation (almost) im losing the weight and it helps to get involved in other areas too. for example: i moved from florida to indiana at the end of last year, and the drama class was full. i later found out that choir always works with the drama department, so now if acting fails, i have my singing to fall back on.
