If I call a crisis hotline will it show up on my family's phone bill?
I need to call one, but I don't want my parents to know. What are some good ones for teens?

I’m not sure what’s going on in your life for you to be worried about your family seeing if you call a crisis hotline. Obviously you’re trying to get help. Stop and think for a minute, is your relationship with your parents or family that damage that you cannot seek help there first. If you’re that worried about the number showing up, use a pay phone, but please get the help or answers you need. Before what ever your trying to fix, gets out of control. Best of luck to you.

Well if you have a crisis it depends on the crisis. And it will show up on the phone bill unless you call from a payophone or a cellphone(may still show up), then it won't. Another thing you could try is talking to a local preacher/ pastor/ or counciler. You can get very good advice from these people.

Well If your parents have detail billing then yes the number will show up. It is best to call from a pay phone or a friends.
As for the other commit then I must say that teen do have troubles what if she is being sexually abused or drugs. Please always try to get help or talk with someone that you can trust.

No if it is a 800 number it should not show up on the phone bill. Depending on what your crisis concerns, you can look it up on a search screen or email me back and I will try to help. But there is help available so don't panic it can be worked out! Look in the yellow pages of the phone book or call the local women's shelter. They can help or will advise you of who can. It will be confidential.

Use a phone outside of your house such as a neighbors phone, or someone else cell phone. It might be better to find a private location elsewhere so that you have some privacy. Overall the best solution would be to ask a friend to let you use their cell. Most people have plan minutes and your parents wont see their billing statement.

I agree with JW, call from a pay phone. And if you really need help you should try and find a support group or there should be a crisis office were you could, actually talk to someone face to face. Seek help from your doc.
