When I start my 97 Pathfinder, it turns over really really quickly and the RPM drops right away to about 500-1000. It sounds like a low rumble, not a normal idling sound.... Then after a second it builds back up to about 2000 and sounds normal. What could cause this?

The tuneups are on schedule, I had a tuneup about 2 months ago but the problem was there before that.
