i would leave the option up to you..but i've two ball pythons..their easy to care for and really really friendly..Also i've found that i can take them out when i go places, trust me you'll love the reactions, and the snake will love the attention..at 30 gallons, that's more than enough room for a ball python to grow, as they grow to their enviorment..

I had a tarantula for 5 years. They make great pets. Keep fresh water in the tank and dump in a 10 or 15 live crickets every couple of weeks.
My spider's name was Cleopatra. We had a wonderful relationship - I didn't try to touch her, so she never bit me.

Hi, If you like all kinds of animals , try a hamster . East to care for, and you wouldn't need the top to the tank as the hamster couldn't climb on the glass . Good Luck

How about a frog? I had a whites tree frog and it lived for 6 years. Whites are tame. I could take mine out and it would sit on my desk while i did homework or watched tv. It was really neat. It wasnt hard to take care of either you just had to keep water in it and feed him worms or crickets from a pet store. I loved my frog.

you could get some hamsters! aquariums are great for hamsters because they have lots of room to play and you can even watch them dig holes. its also less noise because you don't have to hear them chewing on the bars of a wire cage all night. Hamsters are really fun pets!
