Do you need to try street drugs to know they're bad for you? What about infecting yourself with HIV, AIDs, etc. in order to know that that is also bad for you? Do you have to read and memorize every single word in a book you don't have to find out whether you want it or not? Do you need to be a scientologist just to proove that you are insane? These are some of the many questions that I have in mind to ask those who believe in only what they sense.I also have a story to tell. Imagine a tribe of people who stare at a cave wall with the light of dancing flames on it their whole lives. Now imagine that one person looks away, and discovers more to life, then exits the cave to discover even more. When he returns, he tells the other people what he saw. One of them points to the wall without looking away at the first person and says "No, that is all we have seen, therefore it is all there is." When the first person tries harder, the other people kill him while still looking at the wall.

First:

Your story is extracted from "Plato" :D The Myth of the Cave!
I'm studying it now at the University.

And Second: NO! You don't have to experience all of the bad habits/things you just mentioned in order to believe or make sure that they're harmful.

Logically people should see/observe (Examples) of others who had experienced such things, and know that it's bad for them too. Cause we're all Humans, and what affects you, affects me as well. Like HIV just like you've mentioned and Drugs as well.

So, when people get categorized under so many titles, you get to see that NOT all of the people around the world do experience the bad things and NOT all of them don't!

Some do experience and some do not. And that's how (WE LEARN" and gain experience.

I'm not talking about "Individual" work, like: You have to fall in deep situations in order to learn, gain experience and be strong in life. Yes this; all people should experience.

But there is another type of experiencing things, and those are the "General Harmful things" like: HIV & Drugs.

We take examples from people and we learn!

On the other hand, I get to tell you that YES! Some people just don't use their Brains much and while knowing that this thing is harmful, Yet! They tend to react the exact opposite! :)
