The only provider at the moment is Virgin. Look at virgin.net for more info. They offer packages without any ties or 12 month contract. Also check Bulldog, they seem to offer Pay As You Go services for broadband. not quite sure of how it works.
All the best.

Not that I know of because of some of the stuff you need. Just put broadband in a search engine and decide which one meets your needs. I have BT and it suits me down to the ground, as it includes free phone calls.

Best or cheapest?... If you ask for best in terms of speed/quality you'll get as many answers as there are providers...BT, Tiscali seem to get good 'scores' in user reviews, have a look at http://www.adslguide.org/ for fairly impartial guidance. In terms of cheapest, TalkTalk's service seems to offer the earth, ie: as in free as long as you sign up for their telephone service----though as this also includes the line rental it does give a definate saving--- though as its new how good it really is still remains to be seen.http://www.ukonline.co.uk do a £10/month service, this is a 1Mb service and I have experience of using it, it's pretty good!!. Unfortunately its not available all over the country, you might not be able to get it.
Hope that helps.
