I don't think you should generalise and say that no politician can be trusted. Some of them are still doing an honest job. As a matter of fact, if ALL politicians were crooked, the world would be absolutely destroyed by now. We aren't because there are still some good people working for us.

You have to ask yourself why any normal person (in the widest sense) would want to be a politician.
And why would you trust anyone who was willing to make that many compromises.

The only time we live in a democracy is when it's time to vote.. Politicians never admit that anything is wrong until it goes wrong. .. It's a shame that they are not reading this web site...

My (soon to be ex) father in law tells the following story:
His father had a friend who ran for office. When asked who he voted for, he replied, "No one, They are all crooks."
"But Joe (the friend) is running. Didn't you vote for him? He's honest." replied another friend.
His father replied, " Yes, he's honest and I won't be responsible for helping turn him into a crook."
I think that about sums it up.
