I was thinking of Majoring in Computer Science but I love art also can i combine the two?
I am not sure what i want to major in. I love art and wanted to draw and create but i have this interest in Computers. I guess i wonder if i have enough talent as artist to make a living and as for computers i wonder about the math... I am willing to study hard for it what kinda math will i have to master? I am also starting out late in life iam in my fortys and have an associate degree already. Maybe bussiness I should go into. It would be great to make a bussiness out of one of my majors !

Ever heard of computer animation? Computer art? Computer graphics? Check out a book called ' Toon Art '. If the website still exists, check the following:

Graphic Design!!! Learn CorelDraw (my favorite), or Adobe Illustrator. Adobe photoshop is a must. With your computer background you could probably figure these programs out pretty fast. You could start your own T-Shirt business printing your designs onto light colored t-shirts. In addition to your computer equipment all you would need is a basic t-shirt heat press ( don't waste your time with a hand iron). You could scan your art work into the computer, play with it in photoshop, export it to CorelDraw add some text and wa la, you're in the t-shirt business, look around you, what is everybody wearing? Print out some business cards that YOU design. Make up a few flyers. Put an ad in the paper. Word of mouth and people wearing your shirts is the best advertisement. Could be good.

It sounds like graphic design is for you. It combines both computers AND art. Many schools also offer a major in Communications/Digital Media. Very similar but it covers a wider scope and also gives a bit of business savvy (that's the communications part).

I wouldn't recommend majoring in computer science. My daughter recently graduated with a degree in C.S. from a top U.S. school and can't find a job. I'd recommend going to an art school instead and studying computer graphics or computer animation or web design.

Use the Art as a relaxation thing. That issomething you can always re-do and as you are aware, the life of an artisit is very hard. Focus where you are going to be able to make a living without killing yourself for the rest of your life. Life could be long and hard without a great education. Painting can make your mind rest and make all things right with the world you live in if they sell or not.

Computer Animation! I just graduted with a B.S in computer animation and media arts. You definitely have a diverse grid of subjects you will learn in this degree with a good balance between the fine arts and technology. Its fun!

Graphic Design. You can alter and manipulate your own artwork on Photoshop and create some really nice digital art. I have a friend that was into graphic design, she now creates logos for companies and she really enjoys it and makes pretty good money.

Check out the Disney folks and see what they recommend for a school. They are the leader in computer graphics these days.
