I have herd that many Ipods break after a little while and Apple aren't keen on repairing them or they charge huge amounts of money for the person to get it fixed. Especially if it is just after the guarentee runs out. Like if an Ipod broke 2 weeks after the guarentee expired Apple wouldn't fix it or replace it and they would charge the owner like £50 to get it fixed.
I want to know really if the are reliable and worth getting or if they will break or get faulty.

the history of my iPod:
i got my iPod mini last year around may 6
sometime later, after summer was over, so it was around september or october, i stupidly set my iPod up to fall. gravtity took it and it fell off and onto tile. i was able to use my year warranty and everythig was free, the shipping and repair, everything. plus it came back in less than a week.

so i had my iPod again. it lasted about a month or so can't really remember. but i know it was before the beginning of this year. i was holding it in gloved hands and it fell onto asphalt. it broke again, but i couldn't use my year warranty again without paying as much as i did to buy it. so i had no iPod for about three months.

one day on myspace, my ex boyfriend who also had an iPod mini posted a bulletin about how he got a new iPod. i checked it out and he said all he had to do was go to the local apple store and show them his iPod mini and they gave him a new iPod mini because his was broken. i asked if he needed a recepiet or anything, and he said nope. so i tried it. and it worked!

so i had another new iPod. i got home excited and tried to get it to work. and for some reason it wouldnt. finally it did but while listening to music it froze. i went to bed that night, sad. next morning it was still frozen. so i convinced my brother to come with me and we went to the local apple store again. the staff remembered me and did the same as before, i got to trade in my iPod.

since then nothing has happened. i hope my mini lasts, because i love it. and would hate to have to go back to CD players again.

i think it is worth getting, even though all that i have been thru with it

One of my close friends has one of the old-school 20gig touch wheel iPods that came out in 2003, and it hasn't had any problems in the three years he's had it.
