Why not? What makes them so different?

It isn't impossible, but it may take more work.

I know two couples in the armed services who got married sooner than was advisable because they would have been split up otherwise.

One relationship has worked out really well and the couple seem to be really happy.
The other one didn't. They got divorced but that was due to a clash of personalities rather than the lifestyle of being in the forces. However, if they weren't in the armed forces in the first place, they wouldn't have been pressured to get married so soon, and they might have realise before they got hitched.

Sounds ideal to me- a marriage where you do not have to put up with a full time relationship - excellent!!

My mum married my dad in the forces. Had three kids !! Very happy.
