I just had a scare of breast cancer not to long ago.. I felt a lump that was the size of a quarter.. I went to see my doctor and he told me that sometimes women in their teens up to menopausal age get lumps that could be cysts or calcium deposits from drinking too much caffine. Do you drink lots of soda or heavily enriched drinks that contain caffine? That could be a calicum deposit but I don't know for sure ... You should see a doctor about it.

Its better to be safer than sorry. Also does your family have a history of it?

I would not worry if I was you. If you have seen the doctor then you should just keep track of the pains and how often you have them. Make sure you make a follow up appointment with the doctor in a month or sooner if the pain gets worst. I am the mother of three and my mother had breast cancer when I was in the seventh grade. I have been under several test because of my mother having cancer and they wanted to make sure that I didn't have it at a early age. I am 24 now and my doctors have never indicated that pain under one breast is a sign. Just keep your eyes open and if you are not ok with this doctors' diagnosis, then go to someone else for a second opinion it never hurts to be on the safe side. Good luck!

I would get a second opinion if it concerns you that much. Go to here http://www.breastcancer.org/dia_detec_exam_idx.html for a description of how to do a proper breast exam which are easiest to do in the shower. The lump very well could by a cyst which is a fluid filled sack. The best way to have piece of mind is to get a mammogram. Breast size has nothing to do with cancer. Small breasted women get it at the same rate as someone with large. Genetics plays one of the largest factors in breast cancer, so take a look at your family history as well.

hey well im 15 and i am a 36d, i also thought my lump had something to do with my size. i had a lump in my right breast recently, so i went to the doctor and i found out it was a benign tumor. i had surgery wednesday to get it removed, so that may be your case. have an ultrasound done on it, thats how they figured out what mine was, and after it was removed, they sent it off to see if it was cancerous. the surgery itself doesnt hurt, but the recovery on the other hand, sucks.

it could be many things. I dont think its growing pains. It may be a cyst.. If cancer runs in your family I would think the doctor would make you go for a mamogram? I would get a diffrent doctor, doesnt sound right to me. good luck..
