I'm a daughter of a cardiologist and a trauma surgeon. I do not think of myself as being snobby or a brat. What is society's view about us?

Where I ride, there is one particular little girl who is maybe 11 years old. Her family owns something like 6 horses and they're all expensive showjumping ponies, and she acts like she knows everything about horses. Anyway, she was walking with her friends (which she does annoyingly often) as I got on my trainer's slightly wild horse. One of her friends said "That's a really pretty horse over there." The girl said "That's a trainer's horse. She's REALLY easy to ride. Even YOU could stay on her." Right then, the horse reared up and started galloping down the driveway. The girls screamed, and that one obnoxious brat took a step back - right into my trainer's horse's fresh "droppings". When her foot landed on it, she fell backward and got her pale pink shorts AND her legs covered. The horse and I were alright, and the girl's friends were laughing hysterically, but she was a little... upset. After that, I never saw her at the club again, and her white pony was sold the next week. It probably isn't very polite to laugh at her, but she deserved that and more.

I didn't know that they did. I know my doctor is a down-to-earth guy and I would assume his kids are to. My view is that your are the daughter of a cardiologist and a trauma surgeon. It's how you treat me that determines my assessment of you.

People think kids who are spoiled and act like brats are indeed brats. You might be stereotyped as a spoiled little rich kid since your parent has a good job with financial security. But as far as societies view on you, just do not act like a brat and you will not be seen as one.

It is of course a sterotype, but I would imagine it's that one associates such a career with wealth, and growing up with wealth is associated with being spoiled because it's percieved that you get everything you want. While I'm sure not ALL wealthy families spoil their children, I'm sure most do. I know if I were wealthy I can see how it would be easy to spoil my kid without really meaning to.

Don't listen to others if they tease you about it, if they do give you a hard time it's because they're jealous. Don't let it get to you and remind yourself that you're lucky and if you are spolied, so what.

Mainly the way they are raised. Most people who are raised in a 'rich' lifestyle turn out to think they are better than anyone else who doesn't have money. Granted, there are some who turn out better and treat everyone the same, regardless of how much money they have. But for the most part, most people who have no money are treated as insignificant beings of society by those who have too much.

well just keep thinking that and you won't be but most are for some unknown reason or they know why they lack maturity to realise they are just the same as everyone else When did you last here someone say I am the son daughter of a anyone but a doctor???

It is the steotype of doctor's never being home to parent their children (of course), and make up for it in a material way because all doctors are loaded (of course). I know several children of doctors, and they are like all the other people I know. They are not set aside as a special group in my mind. It is simply society's illusion of financial independence and a lack of parenting.

NOT EVERYONE THINKS THAT. IT'S THE CHILD'S UPBRINGING FROM THE PARENTS ON HOW THE CHILD HANDLES PEOPLE IN GENERAL. THEY VIEW YOU AS A POMPOUS RICH KID THAT HAS NO COMMON DECENCY TOWARDS PEOPLE WHO AREN'T MADE OF MONEY. AND THERE ARE KIDS WHO ACT LIKE EVERYONE IS A COMPLETE PIECE OF TRASH UNLESS YOU ACT OR DRESS OR TALK A CERTAIN WAY. IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO HOW THE PEOPLE NOT MADE OF MONEY WERE EVER TREATED BY PEOPLE WITH MONEY. SO BE KIND AND TREAT EVERYONE WITH THE SAME DIGNITY AND RESPECT YOU WOULD WANT SOMEONE TO TREAT YOU WITH.

well, are you telling society that your daddy's a doctor, or your mommy's a doctor? Most people don't know other people's professions, let alone other people's parent's professions. My guess is that you are using that fact to gain ground against someone else, if you are announcing it. And, yes, that's stuck-up. And no, we aren't just jealous
