i got a power surge at my house and my hd got messed up by the shock and now when ever i try to turn on my computer. it restarts just before it gets to the blue login screen, i tried to press f8 and go "last configuration that work". i dont have my xp cd and i cant find my back up cd's is there any way i can get into my computer ?

its no virus or nothing, cause if it was i could of gone into safe mode and cleaned my pc

no, borrow an xp cd from someone and use the numbers on your case, that should solve the problem, do a repair though, not a reinstall, so you won't lose your files and settings,
the first time it asks you, say setup, the second time it asks, say repair

The best thing to do is take it to a reputable service company or Best Buy, and have them check it out thoroughly. The more you try to fix it yourself, the worse you may make things.

format your windows drive and reinstall your windows
