Start doing for YOURSELF, do what you want. Do all those things you weren't allowed or couldn't before. This is YOUR time take advantage of it don't let someone else take that from you. You ARE a good person and will overcome what ever it is that has happened. It wont happen over night but trust me it will sooner then you think. You ARE beautiful, go out and flaunt it ;-) you'll getta kick outta the attention and be shocked at the outcome. Best advice i can give you on your journey is don't get in a serious relationship till your self esteem is back the way you want it or you'll just fall back into the same pattern.. Good Luck and Have LOTS of Fun!

Praise yourself and be happy with whatever small thing you do or achieve. Feel free to accept that breaking down self is quite a normal reaction in distress. The very fact that you wish to build self esteem is a journey : towards a self rewarding and self satisfying experience. It's a motion away from pulling yourself back to a motion of moving forward. Accept that a destroyer could also be a Great Creator.

This can be tough to do. It took me years to get mine back after my ex of 21 years together broke mine down. I ended up going to counseling (I also had other issues which helped to break down my self-esteem), I read self-help books on the subject--and followed/did what they said to do or else they would have been no good to have--and kept telling myself that I am a good person and don't deserve all the crap I got and that I am worthy of love from myself and others.
Good luck!

Guys are more apt to be a problem than an answer( bad ones flock to those with low self-esteem),
Instead read up-beat books. Volunteer at something you can get excited about, Go out of your way to become friends with somebody you would like to be like. and most of all, get out of the situation that broke you down!
Do things you enjoy; better still, do things you LOVE

Lots and lots of counseling.
Let "I'm worth it" be your mantra. Easier say than done, to be able to recuperate your dignity and self-worth is hard work...
Start by buying you some new clothes and a fancy pair of shoes. get rid of everything that reminds you of your past and it's pain.
Go to the beauty salon! You won;t believe how a profesional hair do will do to boost your self steem.
Good luck to you.
