No, they are a fruit

Seriously seeds and fruit come from a plant while vegetables are part of the living plant like the leaf, root or stem.

NOTE TO ALL: Science (specifically botany, the study of plants) categorizes a vegetable as either the roots, leaves or stems of a plant. By contrast, a fruit is anything that contains the seeds. Most people mistakenly think of fruits as being sweet, however, this is not always an accurate defintion. Many seed-bearing fruits are actually not sweet. Peppers, olives, avocados, for example, are all fruits. Also, beans (since they contain the seeds of the plan) are technically FRUITS as well- not vegetables.

Beans pods are considered vegetables. Vegetable is just a loose term which describes some of the plant material we like to eat. Technically, anything containing a seed is actually a fruit. Hence tomatoes, which many people would call a vegetable is actually a fruit.

beans are considered Legumes in the plant world. Legumes are a branch of the vegetable family that include peas & lentils. so, yes, they are considered vegetables, even though they are a seed in and of themselves.
