3.0 is a B so it would be a very high C. Unless they round them off these days in which case it would be a B.

A 2.97 is a B/B- average. Each B is worth 3 points on the standard GPA scale; each B- worth 2.7.

Although a B average is technically 3.00 or better, I'd say "close enough". No one should argue calling it a B average.

In my county, GPA are divided into the following:
4.0 is A+
3.9 to 3.0 is B and A
2.9 to 2.0 is around C
1.9 and below, D to F
So, if you follow my county's guidelines, it's C+. But keep in mind, different district has different policies about GPA. To make sure what's your district policy is, ask your teacher.

It all depends on the school. community college's generally have a lower criteria so for them it might be a low B. But colleges have higher standards so most will consider it a high C.
