If you are a guy, the court sets the amount. Its not your child's fault that you spend too much on a house. If you are the woman, that money is for your kid, not your house! Either way, you might need to think about a cheaper house or a better job. The courts give that payment for the child, not to reward or penalize you.

Best to find a cheaper place to live. No need for bad credit. YOur chances of getting your support reduced are slim and none.

Howe long have you paid child support? If it's been a while, like 3 years, ask the court for a review. My state, Ohio, does it automatically. Second jobs are bad in this case, It's more income, and if there is a review of your child support you could end up paying more

Basically the child support is set by the court and is based on financial need and how good of a job you have if you have a really good job the more money you make the more you pay......Basically they figure out what you need for money on a financial basis and if you spend your money on booze or something other than financial needs then you will not have money to pay anything..........I know my father went through the same thing with my brothers and he had to pay for 2 out of his check and my advise to you is to not get married until your children turn 21 because they will make you pay more because of an increase of income they will use a wifes income as well but if you stay unmarried but live with someone then the money situation does not matter.......I say if you and your ex can agree on a decent amount of money without goin to court and just goin to the probation department then do it if not then I suggest take on another job.............Good Luck.............

In order to have child support payments reduced for the reason you gave, you will need to take an earnings statement from the IRS, along with paid receipts of your necessary living expenses, to the clerk of family court in your county of residence and ask for a hearing date to petition the court. Then, go to court and plead your case.
It is my guess that you will lose your case in court. You made a baby (or babies) and you are responsible for them financially, according to previous court decisions. You are buying a house and a court will recognize its value and the equity you may have in it. So, you may have to sell your house. You may have to give up bowling, internet, and all activities in your life for your child/children to maintain their current living status. That is what responsible parents do for their children. Tragically, the standard of living is reduced, on an average in the USA, by 30% for children of divorce.

I wish every parent in the USA could understand the responsibilities and repercussions of having children. I think you probably loved the mother of your children at one time. Now, even if you have to live out of a car, your children deserve spiritual/emotional/physical care.
Good luck to you and your family.

Get another job if necessary. YOU helped make the child, PAY for it.
