I live in Kentucky and can't wait to leave! I really like Texas, preferably Fort Worth, Austin, or San Antonio. What's your preference?

I move from N.Y. to TX. in "84" when I graduated high school. I landed in college station, but soon after I got there I moved to Austin. Let me tell ya, Dallas and Fort worth suck total ***, Austin has big business like dell computer, samsung, advanced micro devices etc...Plus they have the best music in the freakin' world. Any kind of music you wish is playing live nightly. Austin is the" live music capitol of the world" and for good reason. Fantastic food. I really miss mexican food. It is also a very prominent college town (oodles and oodles of hot guys and girls). The principal thing that sucks about Austin is the traffic on "I-35" at the upper and lower levels during rush hour. Oh yeah, and my psycho ex-girlfriend lives there. The main reason I moved to FL. Other than that a very kick *** place.

1. Fort Worth
2. Austin
3. San Antonio
4. Dallas
5. Houston
6. Galveston
7. El Paso

Edit: I would seriously consider the top 3 and shop around there the most. They also have great suburbs, if that's what you're looking for. Austin is on a lot of magazines lists of cities with the best quality of living but I can't say that it's better than FW.

I have lived in Dallas and Houston. I have been to Austin, Ft Worth, San Antonio, and Galveston. Mark off Galveston to live, visiting is fine. I really love Houston though, many cultures and backgrounds. Not to mention the best Mexican food anywhere!!! Enjoy!!!

I've lived in Austin...if you like a lot of music, whether it be live stage, clubs, blues, metal, whatever...then it's the place. If you like walking around the city then it's a great place too.

I enjoyed Austin greatly...San Antonio is all right, but I prefer Austin personally. Look at what there is to do in each...I can imagine Galveston could be real fun too...but then there are hurricanes to contend with. Oh in Austin...when it rains...folks seem to only be able to drive 40mph...that's kinda annoying.

Well I've lived in Texas my whole life and I would have to say the coast, such as Galveston. Houston is nice and only 45 minutes from the beach. I live in the Dallas area right now and cannot wait to leave, to many people thinking their better than you. In the end, it just seems the more south you go the friendlier the people.

I am from the Houston area - very humid but a good place to live all things considered - however, we are relocating to the San Antonio area and it is lovely there too - Austin is also very nice - Dallas I am not to fond of for some reason - But I love San Antonio cuz it's laid back and there are lots of things to do

My husbands family is from Corpus Christi and they can just pick up and go to the beach anytime they want. If you want a larger city. San Antonio is great! 1.5 hours from Corpus 45 minutes to an hour from Austin 3.5 from Fort Worth. San Antonio has a great Sea World and Six Flags and the riverwalk is wonderful and you can't bet that Mall! Oh yeah and about 30 to 45 minutes away is San Marcos Texas and some super great outlets to shop at! To the west is Bandera a mountain getaway and resort like area. I think there is a great mix of cultures in San Antonio from German, Spanish and Texan it has a great history and the Alamo visit is free. One of favorite places to Stop on the way to visit family.
