Because the mail in your inbox is not recognized as spam. In your inbox click all emails that look like spam. You will find an option that will let you mark as spam. When you do this....the spam mail is now blocked. I have so much junk coming to my inbox that it is pathetic. I had to set up annother email account because it was nearly impossible to unregister my email with every spam mail I received. The spam comes from places you registered with your email address. Some places sell your email and then comes spam. Try coming up with a new email address and only submit it to people you want to have it. When signing up for special offers or anything else include the adress cluttered with spam.

Most spam filters check/rate spam on the physical make-up of the message, and not by actually reading the email itself. Spammers know this and will write their emails in such a way as to get around the filters--- for example, using lots of different words, and not including pictures, makes spam less likely to be tagged as spam.

There may be a better spam filter out there than the one you are using--- most companies offer a free trial, download a couple and try them, one at a time, till you find one that is more accurate for you. But the best way to keep spam from your Inbox is to not share your address--- don't post it to the Internet and if your friends like to send you "chain letter" types of email (forward it 100 times and you get a check from Outback Steakhouse, or here is a little kid with cancer looking for donations, or watch out for the worst virus ever, that kind of thing), ask them to stop. As these emails circulate, your address does too--- and any spammer who gets a copy can easily see your address and add it to a list!

I often wonder the same thing. Once you give your name and e-mail address (by shopping online), hundreds of companies get it and send the ads directly to you as an e-mail rather than an ad. This circumvents the spamguard on the average computer system. Spammer are, unfortunately, smarter than any spam blocker out there.

because the spammers are smarter then the spam guard - just report them all as spam and it will improve the IQ of the spam guard!
