I am bipolar and taking a combination of lamictal and seroquel for the affliction.
the rash is called Stevens-Johnson syndrome.. nasty life threatening stuff.. I recieved the same warning to look for it, so your concern is valid... it must be a real issue to contend with if it gets stressed so vigerously at the office visits..
The lamictal is started at a very low dosage and very gradually raised by your doctor to avoid the potential complication of this rash..
The rash is not as dangerous unless the lamictal is immediatly started at a high dosage right from the start.
I have had no problems at all with this treatment and have found many improvements in my quality of life. It is worth a try. Your doctor always knows best, but my personal opinion is that the potential benefit far outweighs the potential for complications, especially knowing that the doctors are aware of the issue and respect it enough to start off low with the dosage.
Good luck :)
