i have 2 tattoos now and my mom will not get off of my back about it. She still didn't like my first one because "its too big" and then she said i could get the one i just got on my foot now she is steaming mad about it. She told me that i can't get anymore. I want more. Are all mothers like this? And should i just wait until i move out of the house to get my new ones?

she also doesn't like the fact i have my ears pierced 5 times in each ear...she says that is too many and its enough.

i think a part of it is her generation wouldn't have done it.

As for the tattoos you've got, tell her whats done is done and bitching about it isn't going to change anything. As for any future tattoos, wait until you move out.

My mother hates mine too. She always says "Your father would have been so diappointed in you. Is that what you want?" and "Tattoos are ugly" So I think all mothers are like that.
If it can be covered up by clothes, go ahead and get it and just keep it covered. If not, it's worth waiting for.
As far as the earrings go, my mom's cousin who is in her 60s has her ears pierced 3 times each and always tells me that when she was my age women who did that were prostitutes, but she loves the way it looks, so she had it done in the 70s-80s. There are exceptions. I just remembered that one of the ladies in my office is in her very late 50s and she has a tattoo...

This is amusing. I am 44. My mum is 64. She hated my first, actually she insisted it was not real, she was in such denial. Now that I have over time aquired five, she still hates them, still acts hateful about it. I usually cover them when in her presence, it just makes the visit a little less stressful. It is also odd to me that she knows young women in her church who have them, and that is fine, just not HER daughter!
So, when will she get off your back? When she gets her first one!

Wait I guess. My mom got over it. She said my first one was too big. I told her I am getting another one and she was mad. She got over it.

My mother hates my tats, i have three that are pretty small and none show when wearing normal clothing. I was staying with her and she wouldnt let me get any more while i was with her. I think it is pretty normal. Now that i am out on my own again, i plan on getting more.

Honor you mother. Wait until you become an adult before you try to act like an adult.
