It is always good to have the backup with the birth control. The way I looked at it when I was younger was I used birth control to avoid pregnancy and condoms to avoid std's. It is always good to use birth control because it can't just break and boom your pregnant. The cost.... just go to Planned Parenthood and you can get it for little or nothing. Yes there are side effects but they are drastically reduced if you are not a smoker. Millions of women use it every day wether it is the pill, the shot, the patch, or even a ring or IUD you have many options some with less side effects and cost than others. But yes use both, take care of yourself

Condoms are a form of birth control, so I think you are talking about something like the pill, shot, or birth control ring. I use both condoms and the pill because neither is 100% effective and you can never be too careful in my opinion.

I would use birth control too, just to be extra safe. Condoms can break. I've used birth control for years without any side effects.

Condoms have a warning, normally on the packet that they are not 100% effective at preventing pregnancy, Mistakes and accidents do happen in the heat of the moment so it is always better to have a back up birth control.

Condoms can break. They are usually pretty safe, but if you really don't want to get pregnant it would be much safer to use anther form of birth control as well.In the long run it is worth spending the extra cash to be safe.Babies are expensive! If you already have at least 1 child I would recommend you to use an IUD such as the mirena. If you have no children I would suggest the depo shot. They don't have very many common side affects and work very well to fight against pregnancy..good luck to you!

No method is "safe" by itself. You're either responsible for your birth control method or it will not work. A condom that breaks is closer to a urban myth than to physics, unless you are into S&M. Sometimes men break them on purpose (as some sexual workers have declared) and sometimes they slide up due to movement, or after eyeculation, so you must be sure this guy will take care for you (even if that is only for one night) and he must keep in mind that he is wearing one. If you like wild sex, better use the birth control pills.

I think birth control is safer, because with condoms you are trusting someone else with the whole situation. And doctors will tell you there are actually also benefits to being on birth control.

You'd be wise to use something else with condoms. As birth control methods go, condoms are one of the less reliable ones. If you are concerned about cost and side effects, you should be able to use something like a spermicidal gel pretty cheaply and easily.

It is best to use birth control and condoms. the birth control isn't 100% effective and neither is condoms. so if you don't want to risk anything use both!!
