Possibly because of past abuse of help program funds, they are overly cautious about giving it out now. I felt a little daunted by the amount of paperwork for the application process I am now going through, but it was minimal compared to what I got when I looked at financial aid for community college.

Good luck to you and persevere until you get what you need!

There is a thing called welfare fraud, or maybe it has a later and sweeter name these days. The People who pay the taxes need to know that the recipient is truly needy and not just hooked on the system and milking the working taxpayers dollars. If you or someone you know is having a hard time and are legitimate, it may be slow, but help will come. Hang in there.
