Yes, it does. You get better gas mileage on the highway, however, if your windows are up, and the a/c is on.

But if you are driving in the city, you get better gas mileage with the windows down, and the a/c off.

Yes, when you use the air conditioning, it uses a little bit more of the gasoline in your car. But I always keep my a/c on (during the Summer) because it's too hot. Plus, my windows don't roll down.

As the air conditioner is driven by the engine, more power is required to keep the car moving and cool. That may result in 15 to 20% of the gas used just to run the air conditioner. Nothing comes for free these days!

there has actually been several tests that shows the at top speeds 50 -70 mph... windows down.. actually burn more gas than the Air condition...

yes it does effect fuel economy but its actually better than having all the windows down because of your cars aerodynamics
