I am English, and have to say they need to improve, time will tell, although we tend to forget the heat they are playing in..

What a shame, that the question asked was meant to be light hearted, and most of the answers are of the same nature, but you always get the odd one taking it to the extreme, in all seriousness, its' good to see the Americans take part, as it is to see the African teams, it is really good to see them fight for ever ball, the thing they are lacking is striking power....after all it's only a game, to everybody who has written, thank you...

I don't think Americans are interested in it because there is no brutality, not much blood (except with the fans), no fighting among the players. The movement in soccer is constant and it is a grueling game, but it is more of a game and a [sport] than it is a battle, and this is not understood in this country. I would like to see our football players, our baseball players, our basketball players go up against soccer players in some type of stamina competition to see who are the fittest. I'm not saying that any of the American made sports require no skill, because they do, but in American football you have a huge person going out onto the field to face a great big long line of other huge persons to get beat on, pushed around, kicked, pounced on, slammed to the ground by other huge person or persons for about 10 minutes, and then go sit down; in baseball, you have a guy who goes out, tries to hit a ball and if he succeeds, he gets to run around the bases and goes and sits down, while the other team is in the outfield for the inning and then they get to go sit down; in basketball, it's basically the same thing, the guys run up and down a court and shoot baskets, and they go sit down and rest; soccer is constant motion and I guess it takes too much concentration to appreciate the game.

1. Americans have to learn English (even though I'm not an Englishman myself, I know how to pronounce "Football" - but 'soccer'!!!??????)
2. They should stick with their stupid game named 'football' where the people are killing each other to run a few yards ("War for territory") PS.sorry: for oil
3. As we all see - Czechs trashed them (imagine what would happen if the match was USA vs EU) :))))))))))))))
4. They should pack their bags, get lost from Germany, and go home to play with a stupid stick and a tennis ball... i.e baseball as they call it...

Thanks for attention

US team has been trying to be "perfect" in their crosses and approach passes. Almost too unselfish - not enough shots. Besides the Czechs are a much better team. The score reflected reality

american football is shite ...

during the game bush was spotted screaming " touchdown" "HOMERUN" ...he will probably send the USA to cuba for letting the world see how crap the cowboys are at football or anything when it comes to using comon sense...
once the yanks are out of the world cup the whole tournament will be nice r and the streets safer for real fans
