Milk of magnesia's main ingredient is magnesium hydroxide in very low concentrations. Mg(OH)2 is a non flammable, non explosive material. You'd need to react all the Mg ouf of the hydroxide and then you'd have something to work from.

Why would magnesium hydroxide be flammable or explosive? It is already oxidized and hydrated!

Magnesium metal powder, on the other hand, is highly flammable, and burns extremely rapidly. It is a major component of the "reports" -- loud bangs with a bright white flash -- in large fireworks displays.
