Why do Moslems think that killing and suicide are good things to do?

Most of Western society believes in the sanctity and value of life, whereas the Arabs and Muslims seem to put no value on life. Instead, it appears they value martrydom more than life, and are happy when a person dies and kills other people as well. They don't even value themselves, with Shiite killing Shia and vice versa. Is there any evidence that Arabs have a life culture, not a death culture?

Some additional thoughts on this question, regarding Israel. Although the Palestinians claim self-defense as the reason for their terror attacks on Jews, I don't see how that is true. How do you blow yourself up in a crowed shopping mall, on a bus, or on a busy street, killing men, women, children and babies, and calling that self defense? Since when is terror a weapon of self-defense?

I think it's hypocritical for the West to say that Arabs are violent or don't value life...we don't either. Our TV/Movies are violent. We have the death penalty in a lot of states. We're currently at war (and no matter what the reason, we're still killing people). And the Christian Bible at times portrays God as vengeful. The suicide bombings we see in the Arab world are a very small part of the population (all societies have extremists). And what is absent from their lives that makes them fee like suicide/killing others is the only choice? The answer is hope. The Israeli/Palestinian conflict, our presence in Iraq, and religious propaganda that misrepresents Allah have drained so much hope from their lives. Radical action must seem like the only way. So, while we fight back to keep the West safe, we have to also offer hope to the people so they won't want to kill and die.

2) Islam in NO way provokes or supports violence. It forbids killing and suicide.
3)The reason for the nightmare in the Middle East is BECAUSE of the western world, first with colonization and then giving Jerusalem to the Jewish community. Biggest mistake the UN ever made.

They Don't.

I am a Muslim. I have read the Quran and it says absolutely NOTHING about killing people or suicide. It only says you are allowed to kill if someone is trying to kill you. And now, the terrorists are angry because of the all the foreign and western attacks and invasions towards the Muslims.

I hate the terrorists. They give Islam a bad name. In fact, Islam is about peace and love and getting on with others no matter what race, colour, religion or ethnic origin they follow or have.

The terrorists in Al-Qaeda claim that God speaks to them and tells them to kill as many people as possible. That is wrong. If God wanted to kill us all, he could've just ended the world now, or never created us in the first place.

Plus, the terrorists are probably insane. Out of their minds! A true Muslim would never do anything like that. But because they're extremists (And I mean really extreme!!) they don't even listen to music?!?!

I mean, look at the Middle East, Dubai, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia. They are all getting on fine with no wars or violence. But just the American and Israeli troops power-hungry for the oil we have.

Arabia has moved on in to the future. Just look at all the acclompishments. In Dubai, the only 6* restaurant underwater in the world, Jordan, the Jordan Gate (currently being built). Do you think we want to kill?? No!! It is wrong.

All the Jordanians, Syrians, Turks, Lebanese, Egyptians, Whatever! Just all the Arabs living abroad haven't caused any harm. But the country harms them. Don't beleive the media. Iraq War? You should see Guantanamo Bay!

The media are poisoning young minds of the future generation faster than the speed of light!

Islam is not about terrorism and war, but love, peace and happiness.

Those are radicals, in the quran it says you can't kill anyone! The only reason you would have of killing someone is if they break into your house or w/e and threaten your life and your familys life.So you must protect your family and the people you love by defending yourself. Those others are making up their own book of faith i believe. Because while most children are learning their a b c"s and 1 2 3's, little muslim children are taught to hate everything that isnt islamic.
Instead of being taught to read and write .. theyre being taught to hate america and israel and the western world.

I know it may seem like that but the truth is killing is against the religion. But as for any religion there are stupid people, who do stupid things. Remember you are only seeing one side of the story on the news "the western side". Muslims are suppose to be kind and gentle people, but there are to many who are not which make a bad name for muslims all over the world.

They don't have a death-culture, they only believe that a person who dies for his/her faith, will surely enter paradise. That's why they aren't so afraid of dying and taking others with them. All of those "martyrs" have been brainwashed to do it. It takes a lot of extensive preparation and pursuading to convince a normal human being like you or me to blow himself up somewhere.

The ancient story of Abraham and Isaac ( where Abraham has to kill Isaac, but is granted to kill a male goat instead ) also appears in the Koran. That should proof they have a life culture just like us. Only in their version Isaac is replaced by Ismaël ( the son of Abraham and Hagar )

TRUTH AND NONVIOLENCE... essential for all religions, but these are not present in muslim religion.
HISTORIC FACTS: Muslim religion was formed by mohammad to unite arab tribes and have many wars to have a muslim empire. that is why WAR and VIOLENCE are essence of islam.

They think that Allah will reward them if they are a martyr. A small minority views terrorism and suicide and things like that as a way to prove themselves to Allah. Most Arabs and Muslims aren't like that at all, but they don't speak out or attempt to stop it.
