It should pull the air up. Hot air rises so you don't want to pull the air down. It should be set on clockwise in the summer and counter-clockwise in the winter.

In the summertime the fan should blow down allowing a gentle breeze or air movement that feels good to the skin. In the winter switch the direction pulling the air up which allows circulation of the warm air down the colder outside walls and back into the center of the room.

1. this will pull the hot air off the ceiling and push the colder air from floor into a mix.

2. the feeling of the cool air on the body makes it feel like it is 4-7 degs. cooler than it is.

It should be going down in the summer it will push the hot air out the windows and create a nice breeze in the room or rooms. in the winter it should pull the air up and it will push the heat down the walls and closer to the floor. hope that helps GBU

1st where are your ac/heating vents at are they close to the ceiling or down on the floor. if up high blowing down to push the cold or heat down to you. if down low you want it to pull your air up to move thru your house

I am not sure but choose the one with the most angles/slanted......they might be more expensive but they work better.
