Anyone have any ideas to make the whole camping thing easier? Where staying in a very small cabin. So we'll be cooking outside on a coleman stove most of the time. I thought their may be tricks I don't know about. Not just cooking any other ideas would be great.

Try to keep the cooking simple, so you have an easy clean up. A one pot dish works great. You can use -paper plates and then burn them in your campfire. Less clean up and less garbage. Since you have a cabin I'm assuming you'll have refrigeration and running water, that alone makes your trip very easy. Enjoy!!

There are lots of good books on camping in your public library. Even though you are cabin camping, not backpacking, I would recommend The Complete Walker by Colin Fletcher. This guy backpacked the complete length of California, from Mexico to Oregon, and also the complete length of the Grand Canyon. He is an outdoorsman par excellence. He goes into lots of detail about how to save weight, eat right, and be comfortable. Good luck on your trip and have lots of fun. Stay safe!
