AFI (more emo than metal, but still really good), Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, and System of a Down (once again, probably more on the emo side).
And I agree with the other dude, Day of Fire is good too ;-)
Or if you're into the 80's--Motley Crue! Hair metal! Scary....

I don't have a favorite. Metal rules in MANY different ways.
(but I especially dig classic metal like Ratt)

I have been on a Bullet for my Valentine kick lately, Atreyu is good, HIM, Thorn for Every Heart, and thats all i can think of but there are plenty more.
