In 1986? Are you sure you have the right date? There aren't a lot of peasants in modern society, and 1986 would be considered modern society. Perhaps in third world nations they still use the term. Typical activities for poor farmers in the spring are planting crops, helping with livestock births, and shearing lambs. Not too much different than 1886, except tools and technology have changed, and perhaps the foods planted.

If you mean 1986, well then, quite frankly I don't know what you're talking about because that was only 20 years ago. There weren't peasants 20 years ago.
