If you are limited on your exercise then I would try water aerobics. And a low fat diet. You can go to a physical therapy center that has a pool. Water aerobics are really great on your joints. You should really try it. It is fun.

The Schwinn AirDyne bikes are Zero Impact - I use it with my bad knees - no pain, plus the strength you build up in your legs makes the knee pain less.

you can get cheap bikes - then throw them away - but get the best.

ALSO - get into a gym that has Nautilus equipment - also zero impact, and it will rip you in a minute.

Try yoga or Tai Chi. They have books and videos so you can try it at home, or join a class. Go to the video store and look at the exercise videos and try some out, rent them.

Yoga or pilates. Don't laugh. They're both a good workout. You won't sweat buckets, but you'll definitely feel results. It won't be tomorrow or the next day, but you'll get results.
