No it's not worth it. I had to make a similar decision myself by workin in a greenhouse for 6.75$ an hour. It was always hot and humid, the work was very physical believe it or not and even the illegal immigrants quit! What was worse, since it was agriculture, they didn't have to pay overtime until after 48 hours instead of 40. They would have me work 46 or 47 hours so they didn't have to pay overtime!..lol
Seriously, if you are not happy, then quit. I know it is not fun going to work every day and just straight out dreading it. Even if you liked doing your job, 6$ might not be bad, but if you hate the work and the pay, then it's time to go elsewhere.

You can find a better job. Try waiting tables at an upscale restaurant. The tips are really good. I would also suggest you take some courses to prepare yourself for a job or skill that pays well: electrician, plumbing, auto mechanic, accounting, ... the list goes on and on. Don't end up in a dead end job with lousy pay. The more you know, the better the pay.

ask for a raise, while looking for another job. or just look for another job. are there any management possibilities there. a lot of times companies give you more responsibility to see if you can handle it. then promote you. if this is not the case it might be good to develop as many skills as possible, at this job. they will look good on a resume. and remember you have only been there 12 months. $6 sucks but if you are learning it is good. so line up another job before quitting. keep in mind 4 months on a job is a negative to future employers.

Only you can determine if working for $6.00 is worth it. From reading your question it sounds as if you are unhappy with your job. If your being asked to do things that do not fit your job description then make it known. I do feel that working somewhere you are unhappy will cause you to be a dead beat worker and complainer. Start looking for other places of employment if this is the case. But remember, nowadays jobs are hard to come by, be thankful that your employed!

Um hell no its not worth it....dude unless your illegal dont settle for that. Slavery days are over my friend. There are better jobs out there and if your going to work that hard you might as well make what your worth. Go to a temp agency and they will hook you up with something apt for you and you will get paid adequately. I feel like that right now except that i get paid twice as much so i guess i probably should stop complaining. Good Luck

If you're being ordered to do more than what you were paid for then ask a raise and why you think you deserve it because of all the work you're doing.
if you're refused, then quit. Six dollars an hour sounds like minimum wage, and you're better off working anywhere else.

you're an engineer???
so there must be a good reason you aren't working in the field you are trained for...
i was going to say that since it's cash and no taxes are taken, it may be an ok wage...
but you should be able to earn more at you age with the training you have...

If you are paid in cash check that they are paying your SS and FICA or you could owe the money for what you have worked.
Better to work in a nursing home laundry and have those paid than money cash that is spent and owe the gov.back money

For that area it my be a decent wage. If you feel you are being taken advantage of talk to your employer. Being illegal you may have a difficult time finding another job.

Considering it is a legal job making legal money so I think it is well worth it. It is also significantly better than not having a job and making no money at all.
