I guess it would be Biology, English probably the basics however if you want to be a vet then you would need all sciences, including a good maths grade and biology grade.

try and do some work (voluntary if need be) at a vets whilst doing your a levels. It'll help ALOT. Even if it makes you even more sure thats what you want to do with yourself, but not only that, it'll be a great thing to put on your personal statement when applying to do vetinary science at Uni. Thats the kind of thing that will put you above everyone else, because it'll show a deep interest in the field. Also past Uni itll look good on your Cv, and it'll help you understand the whys and hows rather than just the whats and hows.

Depends what your school offer as well as what you want to do with animals! Def biology though I'd say and a language is always fun and opens the doors to working in other countries, regardless of what profession you aim for! Good Luck! =)

Biology and chemistry usually - the UCAS website has a search function for courses with links to unis so you can check their entry requirements - its been helpful for me.
